51 protestors invade Australian reactor.
, December 17, 20

An army of Greenpeace activists stormed the grounds of the Lucas Heights nuclear reactor in Sydney's north in a military style operation.

The invasion was orchestrated to highlight safety issues at the reactor and a proposed new $400m reactor. Australian Protective Services and police officers were caught by complete surprise.
At 7.16am, 30 protestors emerged from two rental trucks and walked through the main gate while 21 others scaled fences and climbed on top of a nearby tower and the reactor itself.

One chained himself to the reactor.

The ease with which they gained entry surprised even the protestors.

A motorised paraglider also breached the airspace and buzzed the reactor for thirty minutes.

Police eventually arrested 46 protestors. They were to be charged with trespass.
