Lieutenant Colonel Wendelle Stevens retired after 23 years service as a pilot with the USAF. Stevens then became a very active UFO researcher.
Specializing in air technical development and the design of advanced aircraft, Wendelle was a graduate of the pilots school and at age 20 was involved in testing the P47 fighter.
He flew in combat in WW2. After the war he was assigned to a base in Alaska were he debriefed pilots who regularly sighted disks. Crews apparently saw an object on the ice pack. They also described one as rising from the water and flying away. Various photographs were taken but films locked away and sent to Anders AFB. More on Antarctica.
